Lovely kombucha. A must try. Biscuits were lovely and light and very like their scone ancestors. Great cooked breakfast would go again

Pretty decent food, although a touch expensive and lacking in the redic amounts of gravy that make biscuits and gravy what it is supposed to be. Very tasty though!

No where else was open on Boxing Day and my partner and I stumbled on Shanzee’s. A wonderful surprise, their biscuits are buttery and divine. Really friendly staff and a cool atmosphere.

Had lunch here today. Ordered the bacon, avocado and arugula on a biscuit with an egg. It was okay for the most part except the avocado. The avocado looked black (I think it was over ripped and kinda gone bad). The biscuit was okay. Nothing memorable. The bacon could have been a bit more crispy. Overall, it was okay. Just your typical greasy spoon.

Love the ‘ mind your biscuits & eggs.’ Suggest ordering with the half n half gravies. Friendly staff.

The biscuits are incredible. This place is a hidden gem, and I plan on going back for repeat visits.

Love this place. Amazing quality food, great atmosphere, great price. The maple pecan tarts are to die for. It has been one of the only places that didn't have a line, but now more people are learning about the secret. Amazing for Shanzee's, even if it means it might mean a little bit of a wait for us.

Quaint little place. Fabulous staff, amazing biscuit menu and the gravy choices had me drooling. Environmentally conscious and I felt very welcomed even thkugh I was much older than mist of the patrons. I'll be back.

A great place with friendly and great staff and amazing breakfast. I have never seen such a wide variety of tasty biscuit dishes anywhere on the island. One of my go to places for breakfast in the city.

I've never had better biscuits and gravy! I sampled the grits and they were light and fluffy like a souffle. Delicious food in a funky atmosphere.

Went with my boyfriend and his friends. Their avocado biscuit was nice but their chai tea tasted more like a sweet latte.

Firendly staff, great comfort food. I tried the Vegan recipe. The biscuit was good. Just needed a little work on the mushroom sauce. But very good effort. The other recipes looked fantastic.

This is an atmosphere I really appreciate and enjoy. It is casual, usually quiet in the mornings and the decor is very tasteful and welcoming.There is a huge selection of food to choose from, the quality is very good and it is certainly falls in the comfort category.My only criticism, and I am nitpicking, is that the presentation of the food could be a bit better. I ordered a biscuit and hash browns and they came in separate plates, making each looking a bit forlorn. It would have been nice if they came together with a bit of garnish. A sprig of parsley on top would have sealed the deal.Otherwise, a very warm and comforting place to go to for great food!

Delicious biscuits and a lovely atmosphere! Good coffee served in the cutest mugs. Prices quite reasonable. Staff were so friendly and even brought us chocolate kiss cookies to celebrate their 2 year anniversary! Would highly recommend.

SHANZEE! WHAT ARE YOU DOIING TO ME!??@?Ordered the salmon/ cream cheese benny through Skip the Dishes and man, eggs were cooked perfectly, house made hollandaise is to die for, smoke salmon was fresh and flavourful, nothing needed seasoning. Fantastic.

Had breakfast and it was really good, service was excellent but the buttery biscuits are the best in the world. Sadly not pictured. Because they were in my belly already.

First, I must say that the girls working at Shanzee’s were SO FRIENDLY and helpful! They made us gluten free biscuits (and another round with gravy), and I’ve never tasted such an amazing mouthful of deliciousness in my life! The food, beer, tea, and kombucha was so fulfilling (and maybe it’s obvious, but we went several times during our stay)! This place is a breakfast MUST!

Love their biscuits and gravy! Their sausage is pretty tasty and not too salty. This place is really cozy and stylish. A great place for brunch.

Good food although we did not really know what to expect of a place that ‘serves everything with bicuits’. These biscuits originate from southern US and we would describe them as a hybrid scone / cake. The place looks really nice, they also have high chairs and an outdoor seating area. Keep in mind that you will not find a healthy meal most probably...

Really bummed that they had to change their name and signage, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying the most AMAZING biscuits and gravy this side of the border! Their shakes are super thick and delicious, and the biscuits are so fresh and moist! The sausage gravy makes me want to cry with joy. It’s stick to your ribs, but doesn’t make you feel like you need to roll down the road like an inflated balloon. Great attentive staff (considering its counter service!). Excellent addition to Victoria’s vibrant brunch scene.

I was just in this cafe, and at first everyone was very friendly, and greeted us quite nicely. We ordered our food, and my wife who has celiac disease ordered the gluten free biscuits. The food arrived and I tasted my wife's biscuit and it tasted different than mine, so I assumed it was gluten free. After we finished eating the server came over and said that the biscuit was vegan and not gluten free. She sounded a little upset and refunded only 10.75$ not even the full cost of her meal. Not to mention tax or tip, or my food. The chef later brought out a gluten free biscuit and said here ya go. She did not care in the slightest. We told her how serious it was that she just poisoned my wife and she said yep sorry, but did not care in the slightest. We left and she started talking about us before we got out the door. Strongly recommend that people with allergies do not eat here, as they (the chef at least) has little to no disregard for food safety.

Great coffee, nice decor, friendly people and the cleanest toilets this side of the city. I was blown away by the vegan gravy biscuit. I'm a die hard carnivore but it was so good, I would have it again.

Partner and I arrived around 9:30. We stayed almost until noon eating, drinking coffee (free refills!), and reading. Biscuits were excellent, and so was the coffee. The staff were lovely, offering us complimentary peanut butter chocolate kiss cookies in celebration of the restaurant’s two-year anniversary. Couldn’t have spent our Sunday morning anywhere better.

I love this place and have frequented it since they opened. It's one of the only places I've come across that serves authentic southern style grits as a side. I've never had a bad experience here. Food is always great and the staff is super friendly.

Best biscuits outside of Portland! Super delicious southern comfort food right here in Victoria. Love the options, the biscuits are ample and they’ve really dialed in the the gravy recipes here at Shanzee’s and great local beer on tap! Excellent staff too. Congrats on your one year conquest, here’s to many more years to come!

Amazing biscuits, homemade food just like your grandma! Great atmosphere with vary friendly employees. I would add photos of our food, but it was gone too quickly. They also have free coffee refills and WiFi.

One of my favourite breakfast spots in town. Really good Eggs Benny and great patio with a lovely view of Market Square. If you don't feel like waiting in line for a nice breakfast, this is the place.

Wow, what a fantastic spot. Incredible service, decent servings and the most incredible biscuits. Try the mushroom gravy, I swear it's far better than you can possibly imagine.

Ordered from them on skip and in true skip fashion they forgot the coffees and our side of Jalapenos, well Shannon called us to inform us the driver had forgotten our drinks, and then offered to drive our coffees to us! Even better when she arrived at our apartment she had a big smile on her face, and an extra treat for us. You can absolutely tell she loves what she does, and she loves her business. We will definitely be going into the restaurant soon because their food when it's delivered is amazing so it must be so much better fresh from the kitchen. Thank you for the amazing breakfast!!

One of my favourite breakfast places. Had the happy camper breakfast with side of biscuit. A bign portion and always fills me up. Staff is always friendly and today for xmas. Offered gingerbread decorting dessert.

I've ordered delivery from Shanzee's via Uber Eats and also eaten in the cafe itself and both times the food has been wonderful. I'm also highly impressed with how good it looked even as a delivery. Biscuits are delicious, gravy is flavourful, and they also do a damn good coffee.

We stopped in today for breakfast. The biscuits were pretty good. I had the sausage gravy & biscuits. My wife had biscuits and eggs. I didn’t get photos of the food. It disappeared too quick.

Try the Canuck biscuit. I almost died of happiness. My husband loved his biscuits and gravy. I loved sampling his grits. I grew up in the south, so it was nice to visit a place like this in the Pacific Northwest.

Great place to have breakfast. I haven't eaten a lot of biscuits so I was unsure about this place, but the biscuits here are fantastic. I was shocked by how good they were. The atmosphere is cozy and the prices are great as well. You order from the front but they bring the food out from you and the staff were friendly and helpful

Best biscuits in town. This place has really affordable prices (a biscuit with jam and a refill coffee is just arround 7 bucks) , super friendly staff, great atmosphere and the burgers are really good too.
